The remotely operated Tecno Plug™ range provides a suite of tools
for use in larger diameter infield and trunk pipelines. Enabling a high
level of control and monitoring over tools that are typically pigged
beyond the pig trap valves and ESD valves.
Remote control features
in such applications provide a high degree of flexibility and eliminate
the need for tethers or specially modified pig-trap doors.
An extremely low frequency radio control system is used to
communicate with the tool through the pipeline wall. An onboard
hydraulic power pack provides the necessary actuation and control
functions for the tool. The remote modules provide a robust control
system for safety critical activities and have undertaken a rigorous
validation programme. Designed as a fail-safe device, the tool will
remain securely in place while a differential pressure exists across
the set tool and have override features designed into the module.
