The tool actuation system uses the
differential pressure across the tool to maintain the lock and seal
mechanisms independent of the tool control system, ensuring
fail-safe operation. As a contingency function in the event that the
hydraulic control system is compromised, the tool actuation
mechanism will unset when differential pressure is equalised.
These features ensure pipeline integrity is maintained and the
Tecno Plug™ is always recoverable upon job completion. Isolation
Tools are supplied with dual seal configuration. A through-port is
provided for downstream pressure monitoring or pressure
application as required. A dual seal tool with annulus vent offers
effective double block and bleed isolation, with both seals being
capable of holding the full isolation pressure.
