The role carries a high level of responsibility for implanting and ensuring compliance with the company’s intervention and safety policies, procedures and standards. Contributing to the continued development of operational standards, training and competency programmes. Providing technical support for project management, internal and external customer queries and problem solving. To support the regions to enable them to deliver intervention service work scopes safely, so that they meet client requirements, on time and to budget. Working with engineering and workshops in support of the continued development of service equipment and tooling.
Directly Reports to: Lead Technical Support Engineer.
Indirectly Reports to: Director, Interventions Services.
Directly Supervises: N/A
External Relationships: Clients, Inspection and Verification Bodies.
Support project execution for all intervention work.
Provide service specific technical support and expertise across all regions.
Carry out work scope feasibility assessments.
Attend client meetings or site in support of all aspects of service from tender preparation to site execution.
Contribute to the development of a center of excellence for the interventions business and strive to make continuous improvements.
Work with engineering in support of the continued development of service equipment.
Review and sign off project execution plans within DOA.
Identifying risks and opportunities to the delivery of budgeted plans.
Supports the regional and business development managers with technical expertise on large project bids, complex jobs and field troubleshooting.
Involvement in preparation of proposals and tenders – providing input to and reviewing technical aspects.
Be technically and commercially aware and understand QHSE responsibilities.
Support the development of intervention personnel to create service excellence and sustainability.
Preparing risk assessments, method statements and procedures in conjunction with the QHSE Manager and operational managers.
Liaising with manufacturing, Engineering and other departments and functions to ensure effective interfacing between apartments and support of project delivery.
Participate in design/operational reviews associated with interventions deliverables.
Required to travel within the UK and overseas.
Individual Quality and Safety Responsibilities
To comply with STATS integrated Management System when carrying out project engineering tasks.
To comply with STATS and Client quality, safety and environmental management systems and procedures at all times.
Ensure all accidents/incidents/near misses/hazards are immediately reported to the QHSE team.
Degree or HND in Engineering/Technical subjects or similar would be desirable however consideration will be given to candidates with demonstrable experience in a senior technical role within the pipeline intervention or similar sectors.
Internal Training Requirements
Training modules as required.
Experience / Competence / Skills / Knowledge
Sound engineering background with extensive knowledge of pipeline hot tapping, intervention techniques and execution of projects.
Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the intervention industry.
Client liaison and financial awareness skills.
Good technical writing skills.
Driving license and passport required.
IT Skills, MS Word, Excel. Outlook and PowerPoint.
Intrinsic enthusiasm for the business and the industry.
The ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Good organisational skills.
