STATS Group has appointed three new directors to strengthen its management team. The Aberdeenshire-based business said the appointments were part of a strategy to fast-track international growth in the energy sector.

STATS Group designs, manufactures and installs pipeline isolation and intervention tools which can increase safety and minimise downtime to production in the oil, gas, petrochemical and power industries.

Derek Smart has been promoted to QHSE and HR Director, Lisa Mitchell has been appointed Commercial Director and Ron James takes up the new post of Sales Director.

STATS Group chief executive officer, Pete Duguid, said: “All three positons are newly created posts and are required to drive forward significant growth in our international markets.

“Derek and Lisa will be responsible for delivering a common approach across all our international bases in quality, health and safety and HR functions and the commercial management.

“A cohesive, uniform and transparent strategy in those areas will make the business more efficient and better able to deliver complex projects which meet the changing requirements of our diverse client base.”

STATS Group recently announced it had won a £6.5 million contract with a major Middle East LNG operator to provide an Emergency Pipeline Repair System for a facility in Qatar.

Earlier in 2015 STATS invested £1.3 million in a new 25,000 sq ft facility in Houston as part of an expansion of its services in the US and South American oil and gas markets.
