Abstract

This webinar will discuss the deployment of piggable dual in-line isolation tools for valve replacement work on a 36" natural gas pipeline in North America. Discover the project benefits which included, increased pipeline safety, reduced greenhouse gas emissions and minimized operational downtime and pipeline outage.

The presentation will introduce the scope of work, including the decision-making factors which led to the use of in-line isolation tools over traditional methods, to provide the necessary isolation requirements for pipeline repair work. Further details will be shared highlighting the pre-deployment planning work and considerations of using an-line isolation tool, including how an isolation tool functions and provides a provable, monitorable isolation.

Finally, the deployment of the in-line isolation tools will be summarized and how they successfully isolated the 36" natural gas pipeline to allow safe replacement of launcher and receiver valves.
