Job Purpose:

To carry out general workshop duties to ensure the timely preparation of customer job orders and completion of routine workshop activities. Also, to carry out jobs on site at client locations.

  • Clients and Suppliers
Main Responsibilities
  • Assemble, disassemble, inspect, evaluate, repair and test all tools and support equipment within the range. 
  • Adhere to assembly, disassembly and inspection processes and procedures. 
  • Accurately record component and material numbers where required. 
  • Participate in the evaluation and testing of new product lines. 
  • Demonstrate good housekeeping and keep all work and storage areas organized and tidy. 
  • Adhere to company waste recycling practices. · Contribute to the continued improvement of the department processes. 
  • Act as a main point of contact for clients while working onsite at client locations. 
  • Responsible for leading the teams and setting examples for safety. 
  • Responsible for leading the teams technically.

 

Individual Quality and Safety Responsibilities
  • To comply with STATS and Client quality, safety and environmental management systems and procedures at all times.
  • To comply with STATS integrated Management System when carrying out project engineering tasks. 
  • Ensure all accidents/incidents/near misses/hazards are immediately reported and relevant paperwork is completed.

Qualifications
  • Mechanical trade with good all-round understanding of assembly and pressure testing techniques.
Experience / Competence / Skills / Knowledge
  • Experience in a similar or equivalent mechanical role.
  • Experience in hydraulic control systems.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to use inspection and lifting equipment.
  • Understanding of Environment, Health and Safety.
  • Minimum 1 year working experience with STATS

  • Ability to work under own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Ability to be flexible in working practices (e.g. activities/hours).
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads.
  • A positive attitude and pleasant manner towards colleagues, clients and suppliers.
