Job Purpose
  • To assist STATS Group in the build of various group assets and costumer sold products.
  • Focal Point for our venders, interacting with a wide array of production shops and consumable suppliers.

Directly Reports To
  • General Manager
Main Responsibilities 
  • Develop and maintain relationships with material suppliers, machine shops, rolling vendors, cutting vendors in order to support STATS in procurement.
  • Have a knowledge of various material. E.G. 4140, 4340, A516-70, 537 etc.
  • Expedite parts in whatever way possible while still achieving competitive pricing.
  • Able to work under pressure and adapt when demands change
  • Maintain MTR sheets through approved MTR’s.
  • Attend meetings providing updates on specific parts for jobs.
  • Maintain certain material stock in order to react to immediate demands.
  • Provide machining and other insight where required to assist in troubleshooting.
  • Lead and/or assist in quality audits.
  • Be able to think quickly and respond with solutions to various demands throughout STATS.
Individual Quality and Safety Responsibilities:
  • To comply with STATS Integrated Management System when carrying out project engineering tasks
  • To comply with STATS and Client quality, safety and environmental management systems and procedures at all times
  • Ensure all accidents / incidents / near misses / hazards are immediately reported to the QHSE team
Experience & Qualifications
  • Mechanical Engineering experience beneficial
  • Manufacturing environment experience would be an advantage but not essential.
  • Machining experience and/or awareness.
  • Ability to read machined part/fabrication drawings.
  • Understanding of Environmental and Health & Safety.
  • Ability to work under own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Ability to be flexible in working practices (e.g. activities/hours).
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads.
  • A positive attitude and pleasant manner towards colleagues, clients and suppliers.

Qualifications
  • BSc/BEng or equivalent in Mechanically biased subjects.
  • Eng and registration with APEGA (or Chartered membership of IMechE or similar) desirable.
