
Remote Systems Technician

Job Purpose
-
To carry out product-line responsibilities of workshop duties to ensure the timely preparation of customer job orders and completion to a high-quality standard of routine workshop activities.

Main Responsibilities
- To survey, disassemble, repair, evaluate, assemble and test tools / equipment.
- to standards / procedures set out by STATS Ltd & STATS customers / clients.
- Work too and maintain a high standard of quality to the STATS products and services.
- Work in a safe manner at all times to protect all colleagues, visitors and clients on site.
- To carry out the movement of material / equipment within the shop area.
- To ensure that all defect to material, components or equipment is reported to the Workshop Supervisor.
- Ensure all relevant drawing's, procedures and instructions are to the latest revisions, prior to work commencing.
- Aid in the proposal and introduction of new assembly and testing techniques to improve productivity or safety.
- To liaise with Level 2 & 3 Technicians and the Workshop/Assembly & Test Supervisor on any issues arising.
- To report any environmental and health & safety issues that arise.
- To work within STATS standards and company procedures at all times.
- Involved in Environmental, Health & Safety issues.
- Any other duties required by the Workshop/Assembly & Test Supervisor.
- Liaison with the Workshop/Assembly & Test Supervisor and Workshop Technicians on any material, customer / project issues.
Individual Quality and Safety Responsibilities
- To comply with STATS and Client quality, safety and environmental management systems and procedures at all times.
- Ensure all accidents / incidents / near misses / hazards are immediately reported and relevant paperwork is complete.
Qualifications
- A Level 1 employee shall be able to work independently on activities that the person is qualified to perform.
- A level 1 employee shall not perform any supervision activities.

- STATS Internal Courses – Basic Level
Experience / Competence / Skills / Knowledge
- Familiar with pressure equipment / piping and hazards of working on pressurized systems.
- Must have completed and passed the Level 1 and 2 internal technical training.
- Must be able to pass the STATS pre-employment physical tests.
- Must have worked in an industrial/mechanical environment.
- Mechanical aptitude skills and excellent communication skills be able to work independently and /or as part of a team.
- Able to meet the physical demands of the position.
