PPS Workshop Technician Level I

Job Purpose
-
To carry out product-line responsibilities of workshop duties to ensure the timely preparation of customer job orders and completion to a high-quality standard of routine workshop activities.

- Workshop Supervisor

- Product Lead Technician and Workshop Technicians

- Operations Supervisor and Operations Manager

Main Responsibilities
- Assemble, disassemble, inspect, evaluate repair and test all tools and support equipment within the PPS range.
- Adhere to assembly, disassembly and inspection purposes and procedures.
- Accurately record component and material numbers where required.
- Participate in the evaluation and testing of new PPS product lines.
- Demonstrate good housekeeping and keep all work and storage areas organised and tidy.
- Prepare and pack equipment for mobilisation and inspect and test equipment upon return.
- Carry out the movement of material and equipment within the shop area.
- Work to standards / procedures set out by STATS Ltd & STATS customers / clients.
- Work to and maintain a high standard of quality to the STATS products and services.
- Work in a safe manner at all times to protect all colleagues, visitors and clients on site.
- Ensure all relevant drawing's, procedures and instructions are to the latest revisions, prior to work commencing.
- Aid in the proposal and introduction of new assembly and testing techniques to improve productivity or safety.
- To liaise with Level 2 & 3 Technicians, Supervisor and Product lead on any issues arising.
- Liaison with the Supervisor, Product Lead and Workshop Technicians on any material, customer / project issues.
Individual Quality and Safety Responsibilities

To comply with STATS and Client quality, safety and environmental management systems and procedures at all times.

Ensure all accidents / incidents / near misses / hazards are immediately reported and relevant paperwork is complete.
Internal Training Requirements
STATS mandatory courses including:
- Environmental Awareness
- COSHH Awareness
- GDPR Awareness
- Management of Change
- Near Miss Reporting
- All other relevant courses
STATS Internal Course - Basic Level:
- Tecno Plug, BISEP, Remotes, Hot Tapping etc.
EXPERIENCE / Competence / skills / knowledge
- Familiar with pressure equipment / piping and hazards of working on pressurised systems.
- Must have completed and passed level 1 and 2 internal technical training.
- Must be able to pass the STATS Pre-employment medical physical tests.
- Must have worked in an industrial/mechanical environment.
- Mechanical aptitude skills and excellent communication skills to be able to work independently and or as part of a team.
- Able to meet the physical demands of the position.
Qualifications
- A level I employee shall be able to work independently on activities that the person is qualified to perform.
- A level I employee shall not perform any supervision activities.
