STATS Group has appointed Lee Steele as Business Development Manager for UK, Europe and Africa, who will be responsible for developing opportunities within the onshore and subsea pipeline sector across the three regions.
Lee’s immediate priority will be to maintain and expand STATS’ presence in the UK onshore gas transmission and distribution market, where the company is helping to transform how essential work is carried out across the National Transmission System and Gas Distribution Network.
STATS has already deployed its BISEP line-stopping and Remote Tecno Plug isolation tools onshore on pipelines up to 48 inches in diameter and its specialist tools are gaining traction in this sector.
During an 18 year career at the Kintore-based company Lee has played a key role in the successful execution of challenging international projects across both onshore and subsea environments.
Since joining as a Trainee Engineer, he has progressed through a number of technical and operational roles and completed a BEng (Hons) in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering.
He has extensive knowledge and expertise across the company’s pipeline isolation, hot tapping and line stopping solutions for maintenance, emergency repair and decommissioning projects.

Lee Steele and Business Development Manager Nick McKay will represent STATS Group at the Coventry headquarters of Cadent Gas, at this year’s Energy and Utilities Alliance (EUA) annual Utility Networks event on the 28 October.
