6" to 36" extended body weld test tools, France

Patriot International approached STATS Group to provide a range of modified weld test tools from 6" to 36" for an extended period for a pipeline construction project in France.

STATS were required to supply extended body weld test tools that would enable localised leak-testing of newly welded pipe spools to 1.5 times design pressure. Due to the non-standard pipe sizes used on the project, STATS engineered each tool to ensure compatibility and conducted pipe stress summaries for each application.

Each weld test tool featured an extended body which allowed the client to encapsulate multiple welds for each hydrostatic test conducted. This approach greatly reduced the testing program schedule and offered significant advantages in terms of cost and efficiency.

Our inline weld test tools are built to comply with the most rigorous industry standards, and their robust construction means that they can be used time and time again. Our hydraulically activated tools are easy to use and feature high-performance elastomer seals which are designed to provide excellent radial expansion and relaxation properties over many operating cycles and are designed to provide ample radial clearance, to accommodate common internal obstructions like weld beads or similar irregularities. Inline Weld Test tools are designed with a focus on ease of use and operational safety, which greatly improves efficiency and reduces client expenditure and downtime during localised hydrostatic pressure testing.
